A couple of years back, the word “coaching” was introduced to describe a new way of thinking about early intervention. Quickly, the word “model” slipped into our vocabulary, as if there was one way for coaching to look. Soon we were all buzzing about the “the coaching model.” What we have since learned is that coaching is an interaction style and not a rigid model with prescribed methodology that works for every family.
Let’s take the talk to the table to discuss how we use our own coaching style to partner with families. We can learn from each other- what is working, what is challenging, and how coaching has changed our practices.
